Remote Sign Language Interpreter - Texas School Systems
Join VocoVision as a full-time remote Sign Language Interpreter for our Texas school systems. This fully remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your own home, providing interpretation services through video or audio platforms.

Requirements :
- Current NIC, BEI, or RID licenses and certifications; EIBA score between 3.00 and 4.00
- Minimum of two years of sign language interpreting experience in a school setting
- Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, with strong expressive and receptive skills
- Bachelor's Degree in ASL or educational interpreting
- Reliable home internet connection and appropriate equipment for remote work

- Gross weekly pay
- Flexible caseload (K-12 based on personal experience and preference)
- Fully remote position with work-life flexibility
- 1099 contracting (no taxes or benefits taken out from hourly rate)
Responsibilities :
- Provide professional sign language interpretation services remotely, maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
- Conduct interpreting sessions effectively, ensuring clear communication between deaf or hard of hearing individuals and hearing individuals.
- Adapt interpreting techniques and strategies based on individuals' unique needs, utilizing different sign language modalities as required (e.
g., ASL, Signed English, etc.).
- Collaborate with clients, agencies, and other professionals to ensure a smooth interpretation process and meet specific assignment requirements.
- Utilize appropriate technology platforms and equipment for effective remote interpretation sessions.
