About Joo Ok
Recognized as a two-starred restaurant by MICHELIN Guide Seoul, Joo Ok is a Korean fine dining restaurant founded in 2016 by Chef Chang ho Shin.
Translating to threading precious jade marbles,’ Joo Ok brings the freshest seasonal ingredients and Korean seasonings and Jang’ (Korean mother sauces) into harmony.
Responsibility
- Prepare products according to recipe guidelines and production orders.
- Ensure all necessary items are stocked at the beginning of each shift and communicate any ingredient needs promptly.
- Report any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain and clean kitchen equipment as required.
- Clean work station and equipment thoroughly at the end of each shift.
- Be prepared to assist fellow staff members as needed.
- Maintain facility appearance, sanitation, and cleanliness standards through employee training and fostering a positive work environment.
Requirements
- Safety Certificate for Food Handlers Preferred
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and interpreting written English.
- Must have clear communication skills with management, staff in the kitchen, and dining area.
- Need to regularly lift up to thirty pounds and reach, bend, and stoop.
- Must be able to work for extended periods of time (up to ten hours) standing up.
- Have the right to work in the US at this time.
- While not necessary, having a Michelin star is preferable.
- Use all required tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Walk and stand the whole shift, being sure to move around the restaurant in a safe manner.
