Job Summary / Basic Function :
To teach classes on an as-needed basis in nursing discipline at the Lake Campus. This posting is for Fall 2024 through Summer 2025.

- Introduction to Clinical Nursing (NUR 2400)
- Nursing Care of Individuals & Groups in Mental Health (NUR 3420)
- Nursing Care of Adults (NUR 3480)
- Foundations of Research & Evidence Based Practice (NUR 3300)
- Nursing Care of Women & Childbearing Family (NUR 3440)
- Nursing Care of Children (NUR 3460)
- Critical Care Nursing Across the Lifespan (NUR 4420)
- Public Health Nursing (NUR 4440)
- Leadership & Management in Professional Nursing (NUR 4460) Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Requirement for Faculty Teaching in Bachelor’s Degree Programs : Master’s degree in nursing discipline or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a practicing RN
- Must have an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in State of Ohio. BCI & FBI background checks required of all applicants.
- BLS / CPR required.
- Immunizations must be current.
- Professional experience or academic qualifications covering subject matter taught.
- Applicant must possess an academic degree one level above the level at which they will teach, except in programs for terminal degrees or when equivalent experience is established.
In terminal degree programs, adjunct faculty must possess the same level of degree.
- If teaching outside field of their advanced degree, adjuncts must have completed at least 18 graduate level credit hours of instruction in the field where they teach.
- At least 1 year professional or teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching.
- Ability to organize and manage a group of nursing students to meet the course objectives and maximize student learning outcomes.
- Knowledgeable in course management software and classroom instruction to meet the academic needs of students.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience providing direct patient care in a hospital, clinic, outpatient, community, or office setting.
- Strong communication skills.
