Summary :
Provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards
of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities :
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living,
including bathing, grooming, and eating.
Assist with transporting patients, as needed.
Additional duties as assigned.
Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN,
including but not limited to : monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy,
taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in
physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Assists with keeping patient roomsareas stocked, clean and orderly.

Additional Job Information :
Complexity of Work : Department specific credentials- ONCC Chemotherapy and
Biotherapy Provider Certificate required for those RNs administering
chemotherapy.- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for ICU, ED,
PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas.- PALS
required for Pediatric areas with the exception of NICU. Certification in
Fetal Monitoring through National Credential Center or through AWOHNN
Intermediate or Advanced) for L&D; RNs.- Newly licensed RNs have 6 months to
obtain ACLS andor PALS, and Fetal Monitoring if L&D.Note; : For added
clarification, see Mandatory Education Requirements Grid.Required Work
Experience : One (1) year of RN work experience.Other Information : RN
Fellowship Program requires one (1) year of RN independent practice not
inclusive of nurse orientation. RN Fellowship specialties require ACLS and BLS
