Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or Physician Assistant) - Pediatrics Patient Care
The University of Texas M. D. The APP will assist the pediatric hospitalist in managing the inpatient pediatric oncology patients including but not limited to managing plan of care, order medications, labs, scans, examine patient, work with nursing and other groups to take care of complex patients.
Ideal candidate will have at least one year of APRN or PA experience in Pediatrics Oncology. All APRNs must be certified in Pediatric Acute Care.
Job Specific Competencies
Pediatric Oncology Knowledge- The APP will be knowledgeable regarding the principles of Pediatrics, Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology & Hematology, including chemotherapy, radiation, supportive and palliative care and the philosophy of Patient / Family-Centered Care, as well as the utilization of evidence-based practice.

Required : Master's Degree Nursing or Doctorate Nursing Practice. Degree may be waived for applicants who obtained recognition as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from the Texas State Board of Nursing prior to 1 / 1 / 2003. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
