Corporate Controller - 5th Street

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to directly oversee the accounting office functions of assigned dealerships with a focus on profitability, internal controls, and asset management.

Core Responsibilities

Responsibilities described in this section are fundamental to success in this position.

  • Responsible for ensuring each Accounting Manager prepares a monthly financial statement within 5 working days according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturers' format.
  • Assists with coordinating the month and year-end closing processes at assigned dealerships.
  • Performs monthly balance sheet account analysis.
  • Assists with all collection efforts and reports past due accounts to the department manager.
  • Review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside bank sources, bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable and floor plan payable.
  • Communicate with each department manager on a regular basis to discuss financial information and assist them with any outstanding issues.
  • Supervise the relationship with the manufacturer.
  • Assist with hiring and training accounting staff.
  • Enforce safety precautions specific to work area.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are the minimum degrees, certifications, knowledge, skill, and / or ability required of this position.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7-9 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license without restrictions that affects your ability to operate company owned vehicle(s) and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Previous dealership experience required.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Must be able to pass a drug / alcohol urinalysis and be able to drive a vehicle.
