What You'll Do

We're looking for a Senior Consultant Relationship Manager to join our Global Consultant Relations team. In this role, you'll establish, strengthen and maintain relationships with consultants through proactive and ongoing contact with the goal of positioning our strategies for success in the institutional market!

  • Align Principal Asset Management's investment strategies with the needs of the contacts within the investment consultant research community and field consultants to support our new business efforts and client retention across public and private markets.
  • Relationship management of global, national, and regional consulting firms to better understand their investment goals and promote our strategies.
  • Share market intelligence on key search trends and developments at targeted consulting firms.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 8+ years investment or related experience representing traditional and alternative offerings with institutional consultants
  • Proven track record in the Northeast and Southeast regions gaining conviction, winning mandates and supporting client exposures
  • Existing strong relationships and connections across delegated and advisory teams; manager research and field consultants contacts

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • FINRA licensing including the SIE or equivalent, series 7 and 63 required within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to identify opportunities, strong project management skills, product knowledge, client service orientation, and the ability to view client's situations analytically and holistically
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication and leadership skills
  • A consistent track record in demonstrating; relationship building, negotiation skills, and presentation skills
  • Collaborative and a team player
  • MBA or CFA
  • Taft-Hartley experience

Some travel required, up to 40-50%.

This position may be subject to SEC restrictions on personal political contributions.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program.

Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.

Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$174000 - $280000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

We're open to considering remote and hybrid talent. Locations for hybrid talent include Des Moines, New York, Chicago, or Charlotte.

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), or remote work arrangements.

You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
