Job Summary : Maintains surgical schedules to accommodate MD wishes and patient needs. Coordinates with Client Service Representatives / Medical Assistants, surgical facilities / to make sure patients are facilitated through the organization from scheduling to appropriate procedure site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Scheduling procedures.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of procedure request and data.
- Confirm / Update proper patient financial documentation for billing purposes.
- Work with appropriate departments on denied or pending explanations of benefits
- Verify benefits and pre-authorizations from various sources.
- Appropriate documentation of notations in clinical record, logs, practice management systems
- Speak with Patients regarding schedule, benefits, out of pocket expenses, etc.
- Outgoing referrals for MRI, CT etc.
- Outgoing referrals to providers, PT, etc.
- New patient referral / scheduling
Minimum Experience, Education, and Licensure :
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some experience as a scheduler, preferably in a medical or physician office
- Some experience with benefit verification
- Some experience with worker compensation processes
