Essential Job Functions Writes, edits and proofreads content for JWU Magazine, including requesting additional information to verify accuracy and determining if content is of sufficient academic and professional caliber to reflect positively on the university
Collects and organizes information from multiple and varied sources to develop articles, profiles, and reports for JWU Magazine and other university publications
Makes editorial changes and corrections to active InDesign files
Manages the university’s print vendor during JWU Magazine production and distribution process
Leads the creation and maintenance of the JWU Magazine web property
Researches current news and global trends to connect world events to the university, and collects information on alumni in the news and education data to be repurposed for marketing initiatives
Consults and collaborates with designers and contributors to the university publications
Meets with representatives of other departments (e.g. advancement), to gather information for university publications and website
Contributes to the researching, writing and editing of web and print communications for an assortment of university initiatives
Assists in developing and monitoring the departmental budget
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
Significant amount of experience working in journalism, reporting, publishing, writing / editing / proofreading, or other related experience
Please Note Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
