Summary
We are actively recruiting a seasoned leader for our further processing plant in Bridgewater, VA. The Director of Operations directs the Bridgewater processing plant and facilities to maximize profits, maintain consistent product quality, and meet customer needs.
Additionally, the role is responsible for directing the management teams to select, develop, and motivate associates while adhering to safety and ergonomic goals and objectives.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops and executes business plans for areas of accountability.
- Develops a strong, progressive management team to ensure growth of the business unit.
- Provides guidance to the management team in developing solutions and budgets for improving processes, maintaining facilities, and innovative problem-solving.
- Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and promotes a community image of the Company as the preferred place to work.
- Ensures that product quality, service, and reliability meet or exceed our customers' expectations.
Minimum Education and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Ag-business, or related discipline.
The ideal candidate will have :
- 7 plus years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of budget development and administration, report analysis, USDA, and employment law.
- A broad integrated knowledge of live production and plant operations.
- Ability to travel to remote facilities and offices for meetings.
Experience Preferred
Poultry husbandry knowledge and strong mechanical aptitude.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. When in a plant environment, exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product at 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 dB. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facilities.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
