B-G Mechanical, an HVAC mechanical contractor, is seeking a Service Manager to manage the Newington, CT branch. Oversee the service operations functions of the company, including the procurement of demand service and repair work, planning, scheduling, managing dispatch and service technicians, purchasing equipment and materials, and inventory stocking program.
Essential Job Functions
- Handle all customer relations, oversee customer service activities with marketing coordinator that works with sales management, reviewing all billing and warranty claims, interaction with the other managers with respect to their warranty, service, start-up, and repair / installation needs.
- Adhere to and ensure company service policies are enforced at the delivery level, develop processes that create a customer service excellence experience.
- Responsible for service ticket, work order and time ticket / service ticket review for payroll as well as billings.
- Software and technology use oversight for service and customer contact service dispatch coordination.
- Responsible for making sure that all service techs are recruited, hired, and properly trained.
- Oversee or facilitate all aspects of the service department budget, administration, field supervision and to ensure continued profitability and growth.
- Verify Timesheets vs. work order hours.
- FedEx overnight all timesheets and work orders the same day they are received.
- Process human resources, safety, and payroll paperwork when necessary.
- Management of service and special project jobs, including controls and start-ups, hands-on training and technician support, evaluation of technical skills, and recommendations for additional technician training
- Communication of problems / complaints in field to VP of Service
- Manage the daily and weekly schedules for service technicians.
- Assist dispatcher in determining manpower for service projects.
- Assist in the long-term planning of man hours needed for service and maintenance work.
- Work with VP of Service to understand financial impact of decisions, and how to read and understand financial reports and data.
- Train technicians in the procedures of troubleshooting mechanical systems, equipment maintenance and the process involved in these procedures.
- Provide quality assurance visits to jobsites with and without technicians to ensure service and maintenance work is completed to company quality standards
- Assist in determining hours and costs for larger service projects.
- Provide effective oral and written communication and field documentation.
- Implement, follow, and enforce all field, office, and company policies, procedures.
- Ensure proper service, repair, maintenance, and replacement of HVAC equipment, temperature controls, low voltage wiring as well as all associated components.
- Coach technicians how to best utilize their time; utilize available resources (phones, technical documents, vendor or manufacture technical support, etc.)
- Assist and / or run service calls as needed.
- Assist in call backs, warranty, and technical support as needed.
- Lead the service technicians and the company to a successful and profitable future.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction science, or related field with emphasis on service maintenance management and HVAC
- 5-10 years of experience in managing service maintenance of multiple facilities
- Knowledge of building design, construction, estimating and procurement
- Certificate of License : HVAC Systems
- Excellent time management, and communication skills
