About The Position
Job Title : Certified Surgical Technologist Job Specialty : OR Technologist Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Primarily day shift;
hours vary according to the OR schedule, including on-call hours. Guaranteed Hours : 32 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years License : Current WA license Certifications : BLS, Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists Must-Have : - Successful completion of Surgical Technologist Course or equivalent experience- Basic and thorough knowledge of OR Department functions and philosophies- Knowledge of asepsis and sterile techniques Job Description : Provide necessary support to the OR, PACU, and Day Surgery areas.
- Maintain assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, aseptic, and attractive condition by following department cleaning procedures.
- Assist staff with the preparation of equipment and supplies needed for procedures.- Perform clerical or other non-nursing administrative duties as required.
- Assist as assigned by the Director or designee, adhering to accurate judgment and decision-making consistent with Surgical Technologist knowledge and skills.
- Work swiftly and skillfully under stressful circumstances and with a variety of physicians.- Demonstrate a working knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Physically able to : - Lift up to forty pounds from the floor to waist and from chair to bed level. - Pull up to fifty pounds from stretcher to bed.
- Push a fifty-pound stretcher for 300 feet. - Lift five pounds overhead. Additional Information : Housing options available for long-term assignments with local establishments offering special rates.
Holiday coverage required. The position has a normal urgency level.
