Job Title : ICU Nurse Job Specialty : Neurology ICU, Critical Care (CCU), Cardiovascular ICU, Cardiac Progressive Care (CPCU) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Shift, 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience required License : Current IL RN License Certifications : CPR, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Full COVID-19 and flu vaccinations Job Description : Seeking an experienced ICU nurse with expertise in Neuro, Cardiac, and ventilator care.
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide patient care.- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws / practice acts.
- Document care according to standards of care.- Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care based on individualized needs, as prescribed by a physician or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including potential shared governance.- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units / departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
- Use critical thinking skills concerning patient safety and experience, escalating issues to the appropriate chain of command when necessary.
- Position requires working every other weekend and holiday with 12-hour shifts.- Use EPIC for electronic medical records management.
- Holiday coverage is required.
