We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant with a broad skill set, a strong work ethic, who can think quickly and effectively to help manage our emergency caseload.

We are a 24-hour facility, nights and holidays may be required.

Who We Are : Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of Chattanooga is East Tennessee's premier veterinary provider of emergency and specialty services.

Our highly trained and compassionate team provides advanced veterinary services including 24-hour Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Oncology, & Internal Medicine.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :

  • Triage incoming emergencies
  • Gather patient histories and vitals
  • Patient handling and restraint
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians in diagnostics and treatments
  • Dispense and administer medications
  • Cleaning and restocking
  • Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!)

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience is not required, but animal care experience is preferred
  • Must have a strong work ethic, good communication skills, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and grow, and a passion for saving the lives of animals
  • Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff.

It's okay if you talk to animals, too!)

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
  • Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
