The Student Affairs Coordinator is a pivotal role dedicated to enhancing the student experience through the development and management of selected initiatives and programming for SDM Student Affairs, and for supporting predoctoral and postdoctoral students in all student-related programming, projects and events.

This individual will serve in a highly visible capacity as resource for the department with students, residents, other constituents and will work closely with the student body, university offices and administration to foster a supportive and engaging campus environment.

Scope of work would include wellbeing programming, workshop facilitation; student leadership development, curating departmental newsletter;

assessment; special events; student organizations / clubs; administrative responsibilities, other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree required; 3+ years of experience in higher education, preferable in student affairs, student support services or student activities;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; Strong attention to detail; Customer-service oriented; Ability to work collaboratively and creatively;
  • Interest in working with students in higher education, particularly with graduate, international, and non-traditional student populations;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Applications, Canva, event scheduling and resources management systems;

Occasional weekday evenings, weekend, and early morning hours required. In periods of heavy workload, workdays of greater than 8 hours are possible.
