A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking a Privacy and Cybersecurity Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in data privacy counseling.
The role involves leading privacy and cybersecurity projects, directly interfacing with clients, and developing and implementing compliance programs.
Duties :
- Lead privacy and cybersecurity projects, managing client relationships and ensuring project milestones are met.
- Perform compliance gap assessments to identify areas of improvement and risk.
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs, including drafting privacy policies, business-facing guidance, data subject request (DSR) procedures, incident response plans, and contracting templates.
- Create and update playbooks for data sale / sharing, targeted advertising, and other privacy-related areas.
- Assist clients in determining priorities and risks, and guide the implementation of compliance strategies.
- Provide practical advice on state privacy laws such as CCPA and WA MHMD, ensuring client compliance with these regulations.
- Offer expertise on adtech and online tracking technologies, including TCPA, CANSPAM, and self-regulatory rules from DAA / NAI / IAB.
- Provide guidance on privacy issues in the financial and health / life sciences sectors, including compliance with GLBA, CalFIPA, FCRA, insurance privacy regulations, FTC / CFPB rules, HIPAA, and state health privacy laws.
Requirements :
- 3-5 years of practical experience in data privacy counseling.
- Specific experience with implementing state privacy laws (e.g., CCPA, WA MHMD) is required.
- Preferred experience in the financial and health / life sciences sectors, including GLBA, CalFIPA, FCRA, insurance privacy, FTC / CFPB rules, HIPAA, and state health privacy laws.
Education :
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications :
- Admission to practice in the jurisdiction (Florida).
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US, CIPT, CIPM) preferred but not mandatory.
Skills :

- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Self-starter with the capability to prioritize workload, exercise good judgment, and work effectively under pressure.
