About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 1 year in medical-surgical and oncology

License : Valid nursing license required

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification required

Must-Have :

• Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Strong skills in patient care management and isolation precautions

Description :

This position requires a registered nurse with a focus on oncology.

Chemotherapy certification is mandatory.

The unit cares for patients undergoing various types of stem cell transplants, including autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants.

Patient diagnoses include acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, amyloidosis, aplastic anemia, chronic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome, and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

The nurse will be responsible for a mixed acuity patient population in a progressive care unit.

Strong emphasis on infection prevention and patient safety protocols is required.

Additional responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments and the administration of chemotherapy and blood products.

Telemetry experience is essential for monitoring patient conditions.

Candidates should have experience with handling and caring for central lines and implanted devices.

Good communication skills are critical for interacting with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
