Sentara Norfolk General 5K Surgical Unit is hiring for a Registered Nurse for a Temporary Traveler Position! Must have two or more years of current acute care hospital experience.
Contracts are for 14+ weeks. Night Shift
Must have 2 years of recent acute care RN exp. Must have valid RN Lic.
$70 per hour for a contract and Potential $5000 sign on bonus. Eligible for $5000 Sign on Bonus living more than 50 miles from the facility working.

Department / Position Overview : This unit specializes in the care of the Adult Surgical Patient. Registered Nurses rotate on PODs to assist patients recovering from the following surgeries : Bariatric (gastric bypass / gastric sleeve),Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Plastic Surgery, GYN Surgery and trauma overflow patients.
This is also a Living Kidney Donor Transplant Unit.

Job Summary
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice / nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
