Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for identifying product defects at the inspection station.
  • Assure quality checks, tests and procedures are carried out as required and follows all SQF requirements.
  • Quality, quantity, waste amounts, safety of personnel and equipment
  • Takes job related direction from Supervisor or Lead
  • Responsible for acceptable standards of housekeeping in the work area
  • Responsible to effectively communicate pertinent information to relief Personnel.
  • Must know, follow, and demonstrate compliance with all safety rules. Also understand working safely is a condition of employment.
  • Assist in assuring HACCP, GMP’s, Work Instructions and Food Safety Quality System requirements (SQF) are in compliance.
  • Understands and able to follow a write-up.
  • Complete training as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by Shift Supervisors / Managers

Knowledge / Skills Requirement :

  • Regular communication with Shift Supervisors.
  • Regular communication with Co-Workers.
  • Frequent contact with other departments.
  • Read and understand the manufacturing order.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to complete a quality monitor.
  • Basic computer / data input skills are required.
  • Must strive to consistently meet or exceed production standards.
  • Must know construction of all different types of bags and immediately inform Operator of any and all defects identified at the inspection station.
  • Accurately and consistently count number of bags stacked on pallets.
  • Must work effectively as a team player and demonstrate and promote team spirit.
  • Must be able to successfully communicate with other team members to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Must successfully complete the Hood Packaging Competency Based Training Program
  • Must accurately identify each completed pallet with a production tag specifying the quantity of bags and order number.
  • Must demonstrate successful knowledge, practice, understanding and compliance of all current work instructions for this position.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education High School diploma or GED
  • Training On the job, with qualified associates
  • Experience On the job

Functional Requirements

  • Work effectively with crew, promoting a team environment.
  • Maintain quotas or production standards.
  • Safety equipment required (safety shoes, earplugs, safety glasses)
  • Shift work may be required.

Physical Demands

  • Bending, stooping, standing, walking on hard surfaces
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds or more throughout the shift.
  • Must have normal color vision acuity.
  • Must posses the manual dexterity to successfully operate various measuring devices.
  • Ability to work all shifts including 8 or 12-hour shifts.

Work Environment

  • Primarily on the facility floor.
  • Plant

Skills

  • Must be proficient in English- speak, write, read, and comprehend.
  • Must be able to communicate in an effect and respectful manner.
  • Ability to read, write and understand directions and follow a manufacturing order.
  • Basic understanding of the imperial and metric measuring system.
  • Works effectively with other associates, promoting a team environment.
