Virtual School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Connecticut
Job Type : Fulltime, Summer Contract
Location : Remote, Connecticut
Pay : $40 / Hour
Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech and language abilities through virtual platforms.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language disorders, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations.
- Provide virtual therapy sessions to address students' speech and language needs, including articulation, fluency, voice, language, and pragmatics.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support students' communication goals within the virtual learning environment.
- Monitor students' progress through ongoing evaluation and data collection, adjusting intervention strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of services provided, progress notes, and other required paperwork in compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Participate in virtual meetings, professional development opportunities, and team collaborations to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Stay informed about best practices, research findings, and trends in virtual speech therapy and education to continually improve service delivery.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current Connecticut state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a virtual or teletherapy setting.
- Proficiency in utilizing virtual platforms and technology for assessment, therapy, and communication purposes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, and inclusion in educational settings.
- Ability to work independently and manage caseload efficiently in a virtual environment.
