Your Role at KIK

The Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the organization's operations, reputation, and financial stability.

This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the company's business objectives.

The Risk Manager will work closely with various departments to develop and implement risk management strategies, policies and procedures.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Review, evaluate, and design insurance coverage to ensure the Company's risks are adequately covered in the most cost-efficient manner
  • Manage insurance policy renewals, including compilation and review of underwriting data
  • Coordinate and participate in loss control and loss prevention activities including proposing solutions and / or resolutions to loss control recommendations from underwriters
  • Regularly travels to plant locations (in Canada and US) for loss control and other reviews
  • Respond to risk and insurance service requests from business units and partners
  • Manage claim matters with adjusters, brokers, divisions, and management
  • Review and approve information to be submitted to insurers or adjusters
  • Work with carriers and third-party administrators to coordinate the management of open claims
  • Make recommendations for settlement value, negotiate with insurance adjusters on all claims
  • Oversee insurance policy audits
  • Support in-house counsel on contract review of insurance-related terms
  • Support M&A activity through pre-acquisition diligence and post-acquisition integration
  • Additional analytical tasks and special projects as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in insurance, claims and risk management with a Bachelor's degree or at least 10 years of experience in insurance, claims, and risk management with a High School Diploma or GED
  • CRM & FCIP Designation
  • Experience in a CPG or manufacturing industry is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to prioritize workflow and operate independently in a demanding fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
  • Tech savvy

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. This position has a base salary range of $110,000-130,000k plus an annual incentive bonus or commission target.

The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills / experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic / office location.
