Summary
Performs all diagnostic / vascular ultrasound procedures fixed and mobile according to the policy and procedures that are provided by the department.
A level II Sonographer must have two registries in any combination of vascular, abdomen or OB. Currently practicing two specialties.
Assists the radiologist with designated diagnostic exams. Interacts with medical staff and other outside entities regarding ultrasound matters.
Must be proficient in abdomen, obstetric, gynecology, small parts, vascular and color doppler scans. Assists the radiologist in guided needle biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, needle biopsies, needle localization, and operating room procedures.
General computer skills as needed. May transport non-narcotic medications as directed. Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction.
Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Participations in staff / student orientation training. Required to participate in ""on call"" rotation as determined per specific department needs."
