Therefore they MUST have and maintain a clean driving record ABOUT THE ROLE The Field Technology Services team is seeking someone with strong technical skills to manage maintain troubleshoot repair and update software hardware and networking as necessary to support the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) education programs & operations efforts for VADOC sites and facilities.

Field Technology Specialist provides technical advice guidance and implementation of complex work items involving educational and DOC Operations software products such as AZTEC Lexis Nexis GED Academy Auto CAD Teknimedia Alexandria Elevate and similar software packages.

Provides technical support of complex work problems involving computer technology to include workstation and server hardware software and operating systems networking hardware software and infrastructure and various operating systems software.

Responsibilities include independently installing updating and management of applications and hardware at the assigned facilities.

All candidates must be comfortable going onsite to DOC facilities. This person will be working within the Field Technology team so they will be required to travel to different sites.

Will do our best to allow remote work when possible but the nature of the work requires an onsite resource. Work experience in the computer support field.

A combination of desktop server & network support is required within a fastpaced delivery oriented agile environment. This position must be able to perform with minimal direct supervision and may be required to use their home as a base of operation.

At least 3 days at facilities could be more depending on items going on during the week. Normally its 3 days at facilities but sometimes during roll outs or critical priorities could be more than 3 daysNo overnights normally except in case of a critical emergency.
