As a Tesla Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment.
You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics.
You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime.
Tesla's Equipment Maintenance is also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running.
This is a physically demanding job working in tight spaces, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day.
In addition, the technician may wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position. Maintenance Technicians will lift up to 50 lbs.
and utilize other hand tools and power tools as needed.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all industrial production and mechatronics equipment
- Perform repairs on production-down equipment
- Operate and repair every cell on a Line
- Perform Corrective Maintenance repairs on more than one of these types of equipment
- Experince with electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase, mechanical systems, conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, networks and robotics
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogues and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
- Ability to work off-shifts, as needed
- 3+ years of extensive experience maintaining injection molding equipment, or aluminum casting equipment and automation and / or have equivalent training or relevant education
- Ability to read and interpret basic assembly instructions
- Basic computer skills (able to use basic PC applications to report issues and provide inputs)
- Good mechanical and electrical knowledge to understand typical mechanisms and wiring associated with equipment
- Able to read and use measuring equipment and have basic skills with volt meter to check AC / DC voltage, read continuity checks and expected known voltages
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic system operations
- Must have command of the English languate, both written and verbal
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours / day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
- Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours / day
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to : safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
