Academic Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon(s)

The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis Health located in Sacramento, California, seeks to recruit three full-time Academic Trauma Surgeons at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in the Health Science Clinical Professor, Clinical X or In-Residence series;

dependent upon experience and qualification.

Expectations of a Clinical X and In-Residence series is to engage in teaching, research, service and clinical work, while expectations of faculty in the HSCP series are primarily clinical and include teaching, service and scholarly and / or creative activities.

The selected candidate(s) will contribute to the growth of the educational, research and clinical missions of the surgical programs at UC Davis Health.

Expected responsibilities include teaching; both inpatient and outpatient, clinical care, resident and fellow teaching, research related to trauma services and participation in the trauma, acute care surgery and surgical critical care team conferences.

The incumbent(s) will work collaboratively and integrate with our strong community partners.

  • Possess a Medical Degree
  • Be eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery in both Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
  • The candidate must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially and promote a diverse and inclusive environment
