Location : Palm City, Florida
Position : Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Type : Full-Time
Overview : Join the Palm City School District as a Speech-Language Pathologist and play a key role in supporting the munication needs of our students.
The SLP will provide essential speech and language services, contributing to the academic and social development of our students.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct assessments to diagnose speech, language, and munication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and remendations.
- Conduct screenings and provide consultations as needed.
- Stay updated with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.
- Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language development.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Florida state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Certification from the Florida Department of Education for Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Knowledge of IDEA and state and federal regulations governing special education.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
Required Licensure and Certifications :
- Florida State License : Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice speech-language pathology in Florida.
- ASHA Certification : Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
- Florida Department of Education Certification : Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists, meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
