UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to join our Athletics Clinic. This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico .
Sign-On Bonus - $2,000*
Minimum $40,580 - Midpoint $45,073*
- Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
- Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours / week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
Summary :
- Performs administrative and clinical Medical Assistant functions in a UNMMG Ambulatory Clinic, including patient registration, scheduling appointments, and verifying demographics.
- Manages insurance processes by verifying benefits, obtaining referrals, and handling prior authorizations with insurance carriers.
- Conducts patient check-in / check-out, collects co-pays, and gathers patient data and medical history.
Minimum Job Requirements of a Medical Assistant :
1. High school diploma or GED
2. Medical Assistant Program Graduate Certificate and
3. Current Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
4. BLS certification

The Medical Assistant Athletics position for UNM Medical Group, Inc. Clinics. This Medical Assistant will serve in both an administrative front desk role, as well as a Medical Assistant for clinical back-office duties, to include assisting with procedures, triaging, and quality initiative projects.
