Senior Project Manager - Plumbing & Mechanical HVAC

About Us :

Our client, a leading mechanical contracting firm specializing in commercial plumbing and HVAC systems, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee projects ranging from $10 million to $60 million.

Position Overview :

The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical contracting projects, specifically focusing on commercial plumbing, HVAC & Fire Protection.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing large-scale projects, exceptional leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of mechanical systems and contracting practices.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Oversee project kickoff meetings and establish clear objectives and deliverables.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
  • Track project expenses and perform cost analysis to identify and address discrepancies.
  • Negotiate contracts and change orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary to address delays or changes.
  • Communicate schedule updates and potential impacts to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to workmanship, safety, or compliance.
  • Visit job sites and conduct site inspections
  • Lead and mentor project teams, including field staff and subcontractors.
  • Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns or changes promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and project management.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial plumbing and HVAC projects in the mechanical contracting industry.
  • Proven track record of managing mechanical projects exceeding $10MM in size
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management OR 5 years minimum relative tradesmen experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction methods, and project management best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
