The Spice House is looking for personable Spice Merchants (Retail Sales Associates) who know about and enjoy food & cooking, and have the ability to share this knowledge with our customers.
The ideal candidate will have retail experience and strong customer service skills. Employees will be scheduled 2-4 shifts / week, between the hours of 9am-6pm, weekends included.
Responsibilities :
- Provide excellent customer service in a specialty food retail environment
- Warmly welcome customers and assist them throughout their store visit
- Build rapport through conversation and honest recommendations about our spice products based around the customers preferences, needs and desires
- Complete customer orders through our POS and Web pickup system.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to keep the sales floor area and displays clean, organized, and restocked as directed by management
- Assist in maintaining the back stock room and setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor
Requirements :
- Minimum 1 year retail experience and / or relatable experience preferred
- Friendly, outgoing demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service - You genuinely like to connect with people!
- Ability to express oneself clearly and persuasively when connecting with customers and making sales
- Calm, professional and able to problem solve
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds, walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to work weekends
- Willing to work between 8-20 hours per week, with varying shifts between 9am-6pm, weekends included.
- Passion for food and flavor is a must!

Classification : Hourly, Non-Exempt (Employees must adhere to the assigned work schedule and be at the assigned station in the store at the start of their shift)
