DESCRIPTION :
As a Sr. Structural Engineer at Lunda Construction, reporting to Director of Engineering, you will have the opportunity to :
- Perform tasks on projects requiring a broad and / or deep knowledge in the field of heavy / highway civil construction and structural engineering.
- Perform structural analysis and design; including but not limited to reinforced and pre-stressed concrete design, steel design, timber design, deep foundations, gravity-based foundations, earth retaining structures, crane pick plan / rigging, bridge deck, etc.
- Implement design and ensure conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Prepare and review calculations for analysis along with preparing engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals.
- Prepare working / draft construction drawings
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
REQUIREMENTS :
- A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or similar from accredited institution and 8 or more years of relevant experience. Bridge experience required.
- PE license required
- Proficient in using Structural finite element analysis software tools such as MIDAS or RISA
- Proficient working knowledge of Excel
- Proficient working knowledge, understanding, and application of critical industry accepted codes; IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification and Construction Manual, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO and AWS
- Continued professional development for PE License
- Must have the ability to organize and handle multiple tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction
