This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers is building our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP / IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.
Our Family Therapists play a key role in our multi-disciplinary teams and work to ensure synergy across treatment. As a Family Therapist, you’ll conduct family sessions with patients and their loved ones that will aim at providing support, offering education, and promoting collaboration.

This role may work with patients aged 12+ in our Mood & Anxiety Program, while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our specialty programs and services : School refusal, OCD / Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Substance Use, Trauma, OCD / Complex Anxiety.
The Family Therapist is ideal for someone who is eager to collaborate with an array of clinicians and patient populations, while broadening their clinical skillset through ample training and support. What you'll do :
- Facilitating family sessions to a caseload of assigned patients and their loved ones
- Providing guidance and support to patients and family members to help promote goals and encourage patients progress through the program.
- Providing direction to families about effective ways of supporting patients. Discussion topics and family therapy goals include safety plans, incorporating skill implementation, improving communication, creating behavior contracts.
- Works with various presenting issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, school avoidance and refusal, and OCD among others.
- Assisting in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls.
- Supporting patients in crisis.
- Coordinating with the treatment team. This involves attending rounds and other program meetings regularly as well as using the electronic systems of communication.
- Communicating with outside providers conducting family therapy for continuity of care.
- Collaborating with the treatment team in assessing the patient’s progress and need for higher level of care, stepdown, or discharge.
- Helping the family to coordinate an effective discharge plan.
- Providing individual support to patients as needed.
- Contributing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings.
- Charting progress of patients appropriately in the electronic medical record.
- Participating in program meetings as needed.
- Working on projects focused on program improvement and the overall growth and development of Compass.
- Provide group therapy and primary therapy, as needed
- Other duties, as assigned
Who You Are
- Licensed Doctorate Level Psychologist, Masters Level Clinician with clinical license, or a postgraduate degree in a healthcare field
- Have two years, post master’s family therapy experience
- Have two years, post master’s experience working in higher levels of care (preferred)
- Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Experience with or interest in working with those who struggle with substance use, trauma, OCD / Complex Anxiety
