We are seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Manager with experience in a manufacturing
environment. In this role you will supervise the daily operations of the purchasing department,
oversee the procurement of materials and supplies, contract compliance, and training. You will
maintain good working relationships with the suppliers, review quotes and contracts from the
vendors, and ensure contracts with suppliers and vendors are consistent with corporate objectives.
Scheduling inbound and outbound shipments is also required. Experience with government
contracting, MRP system implementation and administration responsibilities would be a plus.
Job Responsibilities
- Owner of full purchasing, shipping and inventory management processes
- Procurement of materials
- Develop and maintain purchasing policies
- Investigate material shortages
- Request, review and evaluate vendor quotes to provide the company with strategic savings
- Maintain accurate tracking of freight / shipping schedules
- Constantly monitor, maintain and track current inventory usage, making sure proper management
- and lead time is given to ensure no disruption of product
- Establish reorder levels
- Management of the warehousing functions
- Responsible for processing incoming receipts
- Responsible for inventory accuracy, as well as physical counts and cycle counts
- Manage Bills of Material and assemblies and the recording of manufactured parts
- Manage vendor contract compliance and product certification
Essential Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in relevant field preferred
- 5-10 years experience in purchasing, logistics, and inventory control
- Excellent communication skills
- Great attitude
- Ability to deal with multiple projects
- Strong supplier and vendor relations
- Experience in forecasting, scheduling, and negotiating
- Supervision of employees
- Microsoft Office Skills
