Job Description

Seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to support our client in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities include substation protection design, studies, settings development, troubleshooting, and template management. Support transmission system upgrades and manage tasks via planner tool. Hybrid Schedule : 3 days onsite / 2 days remote.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop protection settings / templates, troubleshoot relays, and support internal teams.
  • Manage requests from Planning, Distribution, and System Performance.
  • Contribute to Transmission Capital projects.
  • QA OLRs / settings.
  • Produce technical reports, calculations, and sketches.
  • Conduct studies and apply engineering concepts.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree wi th 15+ years in utilities.
  • Proficient in Aspen, CymTCC, SEL software.
  • Strong grasp of NERC standards (PRC, CIP, FAC).
  • Skilled in electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor relays .
  • Familiar with protection schemes for lines, buses, transformers, breakers, and capacitors.
