Job Details
- Effective 11 / 30 / 24, IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9 / 9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11 / 30).
- Periop / OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11 / 30 deadline.
Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS
- IU Health is now offering charge pay.
- First Time Travelers Accepted
- Shift Requirements : 4x12 or 3x12
- Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need
- Floating Requirements : Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
- Staffing Ratios : 1 : 4
- Effective 9 / 1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers at IU Health campuses. Medical or religious exemptions will be accepted with a doctor's note provided.
Schedule Information
- Shift Requirements : 4x12 or 3x12
- Call-Ins : If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period if possible.
- Weekends : Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed.
- Charge coverage : Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
Unit Specific Information

Additional Details
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport accepted. Must be clear copy.
- AHA ONLY. RQI is acceptable.
- COVID vaccine is required for all travelers at IU Health campuses with some exceptions.
- Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care with resources provided if needed.
