Diversion Project Coordinator
The Diversion Project Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a diversion program that will be implemented at a local law enforcement agency.
The diversion program will focus on reducing criminalization for low-level crimes of poverty for 12-24 year olds, and includes implementation of a screening tool for human trafficking by law enforcement.
The Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring successful implementation of the project. This will include serving as the primary liaison for law enforcement, and providing training and technical assistance.
Duties and responsibilities :
- Lead development of training and technical assistance materials
- Support development of adapted screening tool and screening protocol
- Collaborate with NJOAG and other project partners to develop diversion program protocol
- Schedule, coordinate, and conduct trainings on screening for human trafficking with law enforcement agencies
- Support implementation of use of screening tool and diversion program within designated law enforcement agencies
- Recruit pilot law enforcement agencies as needed
- Ensure implemented protocols maintain fidelity to project model and best practices
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and project partners
- Establish contacts and build relationships with relevant stakeholders and project partners. Ensure partners remain focused on the goals of the project, and move in a timely fashion toward the project goals.
- Lead the quality improvement process for the project by being responsive to feedback and outcomes data. Evaluate protocols and outcomes for effectiveness, scalability, and replicability
- Support fulfillment of grant reporting requirements
- Lead development of clear, accurate, and informative reports that highlight outcomes and tools to support replicability
- Perform other related duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned
- Liaise with OAG and law enforcement agencies to obtain data on a regular basis
- Ability to organize and develop effective work methods
- Knowledge of purposes policies, standards and procedures involved in doing social work as it relates to homelessness, human trafficking, and other identified barriers
Applicant Must be available to work : Monday thru Friday 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM; Must have the flexibility to adjust work schedule when needed to meet with law enforcement after normal work hours for trainings etc.
This Position is a 18 month grant funded position which may or may not be renewed.
Experience and Skills :
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, criminal justice, public policy, or a related field required.
Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a related field.
- Experience working in, with, or training law enforcement preferred.
- Knowledge of human trafficking, and experience working with survivors of human trafficking preferred
- Established record of effectiveness at project management preferred.
- Strong skills in Canva and developing slide decks preferred
- Valid NJ Driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
