Position Summary :

The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment at the Orange County Convention Center.

This role involves ensuring that all electrical work complies with state and local building codes and regulations. The Electrician will work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to ensure the successful completion of the People Counting Sensor System project.

Key Responsibilities :

Electrical Installation :

• Install electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings according to job specifications and local codes.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.

Maintenance and Repair :

• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Compliance and Safety :

• Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC) and state and local building codes.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.

Project Collaboration :

• Work with contractors, subcontractors, and other trades to coordinate job duties and ensure project milestones are met.
• Provide input to the Project Manager regarding electrical issues that may impact the project timeline or budget.

Documentation and Reporting :

• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including materials used and hours worked.
• Prepare and submit reports on work performed, including inspections and maintenance.

Emergency Services :

Respond to emergency situations to resolve electrical issues and restore service promptly.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
