PACCAR Embedded Engineering organization has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer and Integration Test Engineer to join our team in Kirkland, WA .

Position Summary

PACCAR’s Embedded Engineering department has an opening for an Embedded Software Engineer and Integration Tester. Successful candidates for this role are eager to learn, able to adapt quickly within a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented, and able to demonstrate excellence within their respective fields.

The ideal candidate will be able to deliver critical program goals across multiple projects and continue to enhance PACCAR’s global functional and system development processes.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of embedded software using C++ and MS Visual Studio or MATLAB / Simulink per design of the software for next-generation electronic control units.
  • Contribute to the resolution of defects as assigned.
  • Create and execute test cases against requirements at the level of integrating embedded software modules from embedded software development environments.
  • Test defects against the final integration of embedded software modules before delivering for testing software integrated on hardware.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the testing practice and bring about improvements through insights gained via analysis at all stages of the SDLC / STLC.
  • Develop test automation frameworks, harnesses, and code libraries to enable the team to both use and enhance them across successive projects.
  • Develop scripts, utilities, simulators, data sets, and other programmatic test tools as required for test automation.
  • Execute and analyze automation test results.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures and practices that ensure continuous improvement of high-quality, reliable software systems.

Required Skills :

  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant degree required.
  • 2+ years of software testing experience.
  • Willing to learn and use new quality processes and techniques for software engineering and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems.
  • Experience working with software requirements specifications.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with personal computer software including project management tools, word processing, flowchart / modeling, presentation, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Willingness to grow personally and professionally in a results-oriented environment.
  • Travel up to 10%, including internationally.

Preferred skills :

  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python is highly desirable.
  • Experience applied to automotive or commercial vehicle software or similar industry-related background preferred.
  • Experience in embedded software development with C++, Matlab / Simulink, Kanzi, and IBM Rational Rhapsody is desired.
  • Proficiency working within Test Management (i.e. HP Quality Center, IBM Rational QM), Test Automation (i.e. dSpace environments), Network and Calibration Tools (i.

e. Vector CANalyzer / CANoe, ATI Vision), and Requirements Management tool environments is desired.

Engineering knowledge of heavy-duty commercial truck systems and regulations is preferred.

Additional Job Board Information

At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. The salary range for the Embedded Software Engineer and Integration Tester is $75,100 - $112,300 annually.

This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
