As a Senior Technical Project Manager , you will be the linchpin in coordinating multiple product types including equipment, connectivity, and materials and types of work including development and testing.
You will play point on translating equipment operators’ daily realities of putting down our pavement coatings into clear requirements for our engineering, R&D, and UX / UI design teams.
Your primary responsibilities will be to define the roadmap (both development and testing), set and track milestones, keep the teams on task, and identify opportunities to support our products in the field with the appropriate customer programs (service, training, and job management).
This role demands a deep understanding of customer personas, specification writing, version control, a knack for simplifying complex processes, a fluency with both physical and digital products, and the ability to work closely with both customers and our engineering teams.
Scoping
The first application equipment prototype distributing pavement coating has been delivered and begun testing with commercialization slated for Spring 2025.
To ensure a successful launch, we need to begin making hard choices without sacrificing market viability. Bringing our innovations and teams together with a thoughtful rigor, process, and management style is your opportunity and task.
To this end, we expect the next few months to be focused on :
- Roadmap definition and refinement
- Feature prioritization
- Documentation collation and development support
- Managing the workstreams and consolidating tracking into a single platform
Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis : Deeply understand our customer needs and manage workflows against key milestones to ensure our products exceed their expectations while delivering against functional requirements.
- Technical Requirement Translation : Act as a bridge between non-technical stakeholders (namely, operators) and the engineering team, translating requirements into clear technical specifications and requirements.
- Product Lifecycle Management : Coordinate, manage, and execute product lifecycle activities.
- Risk and Resource Management : Set program milestones, communicate program status to team and leadership, identify program risks and coordinate a plan of response to mitigate risks
Requirements
- 10 years in product management role
- Experience with Product Design, Engineering, UX / UI Design, specifically in the industrial sector.
- Experience in bringing to market new machinery or industrial applications
- Excellent analytical skills to understand and interrogate customer requirements thoroughly
- Ability to translate complex requirements into simple, actionable technical specifications
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and other stakeholders
- Knowledge of process automation and how to incorporate it into product design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
