The Senior Financial Analyst is part of the Corporate Supply Chain Finance team, with involvement in financial reporting / analysis, monthly / annual closing, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
The position will predominantly support the Supply Chain & Procurement leadership team as well as Corporate FP&A, but will also work with Distribution & Transportation, Manufacturing, and Sourcing teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide detailed, timely, and accurate analysis for month-end close including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Provide informative analysis for Supply Chain overheads including significant operating variances vs. budget, estimate, and prior year on a monthly basis
Monthly spend reviews with management team and cost center owners
Work with management team to create and maintain annual budget, annual allocations, headcount rosters, detailed project expense lists, monthly forecasts, and R&O list
Develop and consolidate forecasts across multiple cost centers, teams, and geographical regions, aggregate results, and provide concise walks on changes vs.
previous estimate and previous year
Work with management team on understanding key financial metrics and cost controls
Work with management team on cost savings ideas, related financial analysis, and monthly reporting of actual productivity results
Establish, identify, and share best practices for reporting, analytics, and simplification work with Newell’s Supply Chain Finance & FP&A community.
Areas of responsibility could include international spend reporting / control, fixed assets / construction in progress, capitalized variances, inventory revaluation
Assist with various audit requests
Enforce standardization and simplification
Support finance leadership with other ad-hoc requests
Key Qualifications :
BS / BA in Accounting or Finance
Three or more years of experience in finance / accounting, some of which are preferred to be in supply chain finance / cost accounting
Strong computer systems skills, with advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and databases (Excel pivot tables / v-lookups, Power BI)
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Detail oriented, works with a sense of urgency, takes initiative and can work through multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, positive attitude and works well in teams.
SAP Experience is a plus
Must be willing to work well in a dynamic changing environment
