ENTRY SALARY : $38,115.00
Under direct supervision, the Recreation Facilities Support Custodian is responsible for the janitorial care, upkeeping, and maintenance of the recreational facilities.
Ensures a safe, operable, and fully functional environment for staff and patrons.
Current recruitment is for our Long Center Recreation Center and will be scheduled to work nights and weekends.
Essential Functions : Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Provides all cleaning, mopping, window washing, bathroom maintenance, trash removal, and operational janitorial and custodian duties.
- Performs outside maintenance including cleaning windows, blowing leaves, and general landscaping duties.
- Assists, supports, and monitors the assignment of various duties and janitorial tasks to volunteers and other outside contractors or custodian vendors.
- Meets, engages, and works with rental groups for the set up, maintenance, and operation of all rentals.
- Tracks inventory and orders supplies as needed; keeps accurate records of expenditures, processes work orders, and makes bank deposits;
uses email and other methods to receive and process work orders, ensures proper paperwork submission, and monitors status of requests.
- Provides excellent customer service for the staff and patrons within the recreation facilities.
- Performs any and all duties and tasks required or necessary to ensure the recreation facilities are clean, operable, and meet the needs of the community.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment :
A valid State driver's license is required.
Education and Experience :
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, G.E.D. Certificate AND six (6) months vocation training, and two (2) years of full-time experience in the support of a major recreation program in a specialized area / field or in the operation of a unique or specialized facility;
OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
