Job Profile Summary

Broward College invites applicants for a full-time tenure track teaching position in Information Technology.

Responsibilities :

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to teaching, student consultation, course preparation, review of course outlines, grade processing within deadlines, preparation of course syllabi, committee participation (e.

g., College-wide Standing or Ad-Hoc committees and discipline area committees), weekly in-person office hours, and attending college-wide and discipline area faculty meetings.

The faculty member will also participate in curriculum development, the review and assessment of student learning outcomes, campus governance, faculty organizations, and departmental program review.

The successful candidate will employ teaching methods to accommodate various levels of academic preparation and have a willingness to examine and adapt one’s instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences reflective of Broward College’s student population.

This will include incorporating appropriate and engaging technology across different modalities of instruction to facilitate student learning.

Responsibilities include providing prompt and supportive feedback to students, participating in service to the college and its community, and engaging in continued professional development, such as attending educational and disciplinary conferences, are all integral components of faculty duties and responsibilities.

Candidates should be passionate educators who can facilitate the diverse needs of different learners across programs. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about responsive pedagogical techniques and effective practices for engaging students from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences within a collegiate level Information Technology . learning environment.

This position is a yearly two-semester (163-day) contract.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience :

A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information / Systems Technology, Computer Education / Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline with related computer coursework and any required industry certifications or Master’s Degree and 18 graduate credit hours in a computer discipline with related computer coursework and any required IT Certification. PhD preferred.

A high level of digital literacy and a commitment to teaching.

A high level of competency in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.
