Our talented staff of more than 450+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions to our clients from our offices throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia and Alabama.

Due to MSG's continued growth in our Civil / Municipal Division, a new opening is available for an experienced Civil Engineer in Detroit, MI!

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with other licensed engineers assisting with the design and preparation of a variety of commercial, industrial, energy, water / wastewater and community projects throughout the Midwest.
  • Assisting the design staff in the design engineering and plan preparation.
  • Performing and checking various design calculations and performing various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package.
  • Preparing front end feasibility documents, due diligence reports and zoning studies, project development, storm water modeling and design, cost estimates and detailed design plans.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar with 8 or more years’ experience in civil / site engineering
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and proficiency at working in a vibrant and multi-faceted team environment.
  • Experience with industry design standards, guidelines and specifications (e.g. MDOT, City of Detroit preferred, etc.)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D and / or Microstation / Geopak required.
