DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, performs skilled journeyman electrician tasks; maintain, repair, and install electrical systems, equipment and components such as : motors and motor controllers, lighting systems, control devices, switches and cables;

transformers, lightening arresters and conductors. Test, troubleshoot and locate electrical malfunctions using appropriate test instruments.

Coordinate services with Hospital employees and contractors. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Proof of Journeyman Electrician status.
• Five (5) or more years of experience working on institutional construction projects.
• Two (2) or more years of experience working on OSHPD regulated projects.
• Previous experience working in acute care / hospital setting.
• Must have a strong knowledge of and experience with tools, equipment and products of the trade.
• Must be able to work at heights; in confined spaces and lift motors.
• Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Electrician License.
• Ability to work within infection control containments.
• Experience working in occupied healthcare environments.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
• Must maintain a valid California driver's License to operate UC vehicles and travel to UCSD facilities.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range : $101,769 - $101,769 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent : $48.74 - $48.74
