About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - OR Job Specialty : Surgical Services Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8 Hour Variable Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years of OR Level 1 or 2 trauma experience License : Registered Nurse (RN) - State Board of Nursing Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : - OR experience with Ortho-Trauma (ORIF, External Fixation, Amputations), Neuro (Craniotomy, Spinal), General, Robotics (Davinci XI) - Surgical experience in a tertiary care center - Pre-Op / PACU skills, including ICU skillset in PACU Job Description : - Work in a 12-bed OR facility running 9 ORs Monday through Friday from 0700-1500.
- Handle 20 Pre-Op bays and 14 PACU bays.- Treat a variety of surgical patients, including Urology, Neuro, Ortho, Robotic, General, Podiatry, and ENT cases.
- Provide Pre and Post Recovery (Phase I and Phase II) care, with some patients requiring ICU-level care.- Maintain patient ratios of OR 1 : 1, Pre-Op 1 : 2, PACU Phase I - 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 (based on acuity), and PACU Phase II - 1 : 2-3.
- Support on the unit alongside Surgery RNs, First Assistants, Surgical Techs, Nurse Clinicians, and other specialized staff.
- Use EPIC charting system and Omnicell / Alaris equipment; notify if EPIC experience is lacking for approval.- Floating is required as needed within Pre-Op, PACU, and occasionally to assist on the floor.
- Participate in a weekend rotation and be available for on-call duty one overnight per week (7p-7a) and every third weekend (Friday 1500 to Monday 0700).
- Adhere to holiday expectations by working 2 out of 4 major holidays. Additional Notes : - Scrubs will be provided. - Orientation for all specialties lasts one week.
