Design Engineer
Job description
Design engineer, mechanical preferred.
- Connector design including injection molding, machining, fabbing, and other design work as assigned. PEEK and rubber molding / overmolding.
- Design injection molded components from concept sketches and rough designs provided by sales and / or client.
- Finite Element Analysis and experience with Solidworks, Autocad desired.
- Design connectors, analyze, thoroughly check, and detail all designs for manufacturing and assembly.
- Ensure accurate fabrication of molds, tooling, and dies.
- Manage buy-out items.
- Review specifications and design to meet fit, form, and function of component(s).
- Prepare quotations and / or assist sales in preparing quotation.
- Thorough knowledge of tolerancing.
- Represent LUC Technologies at customer visits as required.
- Ability and willingness to take ownership of projects, ability to get the job done with minimal supervision.
- Resolve problems in new and existing designs with innovative and cost-effective solutions
- Independently look for cost-saving opportunities in new and existing products.
- Work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BSME or equivalent experience.
