Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing analysis to determine cost effective utility rate structures for client accounts, In addition, this individual will track utility rate changes and review new accounts, to ensure they are set up properly on a cost competitive rate structure with the utility.
The Energy Analyst works collaboratively with the Account Managers to drive optimum value and minimize risks for each customer providing data and analytical support within.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing data and preparing reports; interfacing with internal data team and procurement managers, external clients and vendors;
collecting and analyzing energy usage, rate information and billing data; and developing and producing analytical reports to support the achievement of customer deliverables.
The ideal candidate will be highly capable of performing complex analysis to create, improve and maintain current spreadsheets, and to maintain data in databases.
Essential Responsibility Time Commitment
70% : Rate and Tariff Analysis / Optimization
20% : Contract management, rate verification and account enrollment
10% : Support Account Management and Energy Supply & Risk Management to ensure accurate account set up
Results Expectations
Self-motivated and proactive efforts to provide rate and tariff analysis and contract maintenance. Consistent, independent research of rate changes and calculations of utilities throughout North America.
Required Qualifications
Preferred Skills and Abilities :
- Knowledge Basic understanding of energy terms such as demand, usage, and load factor. Strong analytical ability is highly desirable
- Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite including Access and Outlook; experience with SQL is desirable, but not required
- Experience with Excel, manipulating large amounts of data, and developing complex formulas
- Customer Influence Some analysis and timely and thoughtful responses to current and potential clients
- Communication Good communication skills required to effectively answer customers questions.
Preferred Education and Experience :
- Minimum Associates Degree required Bachelors Degree preferred
- Two years energy analysis experience, or equivalent
- Strong math skills with essential Excel experience (incl : Pivot Tables, Data Integration, Data Tables and Sets, etc.)
Working Conditions
General office environment
Average minimum of 40 hours per week with frequent deadlines
Self-directed work with some projects
