Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing production processes within their designated area.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role focuses on improving processes, planning and monitoring work, mentoring staff, and resolving production-related issues.

A strong emphasis on continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and quality is essential. The Production Supervisor will collaborate with other supervisors to form a cohesive, efficient, and successful supervisory team.

Focus :

Develop, implement, and revise operating procedures as needed to establish standard work within the department. Manage personnel to meet production targets and foster a positive culture.

Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, and evaluate job performance. Coach, counsel, and discipline employees. Develop and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.

Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, select, orient, and train employees, fostering personal growth opportunities.

Maintain workflow by monitoring and auditing steps of the production process. Ensure quality checks are performed, and appropriate actions are taken to resolve issues.

Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure company goals are achieved. Meet production targets by effectively scheduling and allocating personnel across various departments as needed.

Ensure the operation of tools and gauges by coordinating repairs or replacements and evaluating new tools or techniques.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on policies. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through professional publications, leveraging internal resources, establishing personal networks, and benchmarking best practices.

Initiate, participate in, and support Kaizen events and other Lean training to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Skill Set

Over 10 years of experience in a dynamic hard goods manufacturing setting, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a LEAN manufacturing environment.

5+ years of experience in mechanics. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Metrics-driven approach. Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and other software to manage and improve production.

Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on team development and motivation. High-energy, self-motivated, and inherently curious Strong leadership skills and the ability to think independently when necessary.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to delve into details. Innovative mindset, open to trying creative solutions to problems.
