RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Verifies daily staffing and redistribution, as necessary;
- Responsible for the coordination of total resident care;
- Must have knowledge of dietetic, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
- Must have knowledge of medications, their proper dosage and expected results.
- Makes rounds, morning and night, as time allows, to assess residents condition, giving special attention to critically ill residents;
- Ensures that the individual nursing care plan is followed for each resident;
- Performs medication passes and / or direct resident care as needed;
- Participates in resident care committee meetings;
- Reinforces the training and orientation of nursing personnel and provides positive reinforcement;
- Answers any / all emergencies throughout the shift (i.e., change of resident condition or pronouncement of death);
- Assists in assuring a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors;
- Assures that the building is secure during the evening and night hours by checking doors and alarms according to nursing facility protocols;
- Reviews incident and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness;
- Assists in development and implementation of nursing facility Quality Improvement Program;
- Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Must possess a valid RN / LPN license, in good standing in accordance with laws of this state, from an approved NJ Nursing School of Nursing.
- Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.
- Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED or at least two (2) years of experience in the healthcare field and / or related industry.
- Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and above all, maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
- Must maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loves ones.
