Director of Vocational/Employment Services

PRIMARY FUNCTION : The Director of Vocational / Employment Services provides leadership, management and oversight to all agency vocational services.

The Director is responsible for Service delivery, ensuring that all goals of people supported are being addressed. They are responsible for the development and execution of policies and procedures that ensure high quality, sustainable vocational support for all clients.

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Vocational Department including the implementation of practices that prepare and motivate adults with disabilities to improve work performance and advance towards integrated, competitive employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE :

• Provides leadership, decision making and oversight for all agency vocational services.
• Provides vocational training and guidance to staff across all clinical, business, and vocational services. Ensures that staff participates in all required in-service training.
• Develops new programs and initiatives leading to successful acquisition of work skills, transition, and placement in the most appropriate and available integrated community experience.

Trains staff in the delivery of these programs and initiatives.

Ensures the provision of services in an environment that preserves and enhances the health and safety of all people we support.

Promotes a culture of safety and empowerment, both in awareness and action.

Ensures that all required documentation and billing is completed in a timely manner as per all payors and related regulatory bodies as well as internal policy.

Ensure all required reports are completed and submitted in an accurate timely manner.

• Interfaces directly with NJ DVRS, State and Federal DOL, DDD and all other referral sources and regulatory bodies.
• Oversees departmental compliance with agency's incident management and review process.
• Ensures completion of a quarterly review of member records for appropriateness of treatment and to ensure that records are updated with goals specific to the individual needs of the clients.

Also ensures adherence to all DVRS, CARF, DDD and Medicaid regulations as applicable.

• In collaboration with departmental staff, is responsible for the coordination of recruitment, intake, and evaluation of new participants, as well as the marketing of the programs and relationship building with stakeholders.
• Ensures the development and execution of vocational assessments that inform treatment / service planning.
• Ensures the development of vocationally based goals for individual treatment / service plans and provides support to counseling staff and rehabilitation aides on best practices to achieve stated goals.
• Works in collaboration with the Executive Director of Operations, business area managers and program managers to ensure services are meeting the agency and participants goals.
• Provides oversight to all pre-vocational & employment supports including Time-Studies, piece rate calculations and other member payment practices.

Ensures that members are placed accordingly in vocational support as appropriate for their skill levels and rehabilitation goals.

Other related duties as required by the Executive Director of Day and Community Services , the CEO or their designee.

REQUIREMENTS :

• MA in Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation, or related field
• LPC or related state license preferred.
• Must have experience collaborating with DVRS and / or DDD.
• Must have 3-5 years' work experience, including experience supervising vocational and / or clinical staff.
