Job Summary

As a Senior Data Scientist specializing in time series forecasting, you will play a pivotal role in developing predictive models and algorithms to extract valuable insights from time-dependent data.

Additionally, the candidate should have a solid background in machine learning models and be comfortable working with large datasets.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced time series forecasting models utilizing techniques such as Random Forest, XGBoost, ARIMA, LSTM, etc.
  • Clean, preprocess, and analyze large-scale time series datasets to derive meaningful patterns and trends.
  • Optimize model performance by fine-tuning hyperparameters, feature engineering, and incorporating domain knowledge.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify relevant variables and features for predictive modeling.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy models into production systems and ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and iterate on models to improve accuracy and robustness.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in time series forecasting techniques and recommend innovative approaches to enhance predictive capabilities.
  • Self-directed and able to work in an ambiguous environment.
  • Convert model outputs into actionable insight to drive value.
  • Engage with stakeholders to support the integration of findings in business decisions.
  • Lead the development of new techniques, tools and processes to improve the efficiency and scope of the team’s work, and incorporating the latest industry thinking to ensure the team remains cutting edge.
  • Experience in conducting analysis of pricing, competition, labor decisions, health care outcomes, auctions, marketing strategies, advertising, contract design, and game theory.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills with both economists and non-economist audiences.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field; advanced degree (Ph.D.) preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional experience working with large data sets, understanding of statistical analysis, modeling techniques, data mining.
  • At least two years' experience with SQL and one statistical software package (Python, R, SAS, Stata) required.
  • Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with different departments within the company and employees.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
  • Requires the ability to prioritize work, meet stringent deadlines, balance multiple tasks and work in a team environment.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment where personal initiative is a critical element to success.
